Currently, I serve as an Environmental and GIS Consultant at Terra Nexus, a leading environmental consulting firm based in Dubai (hybrid)- providing environmental consultancy services and comprehensive environmental solutions to the unique challenges and opportunities of the Middle East.
Previously, I worked as a principal researcher, investigating Koala conservation and the impacts of coal mining on habitat destruction in the Bowen Basin of Queensland, Australia. Furthermore, I also worked as a Manager- GIS and Environment for a heavy minerals sand mining project in the East coast of Sri Lanka. With over 10 years of experience in environmental science and GIS across academia and diverse industries in Sri Lanka, Australia, the Middle East, Thailand, and Laos, I have held various managerial, research, consulting, teaching, and industry expert roles. I have completed my BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science at the University of Jaffna and my MSc in Geoinformatics at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, graduating at the top of my class for both degrees.
